Holy moly. It took forever to pack up the house AND we're not even done. I couldn't stay another night because I'd packed up all the sheets and pillows and I need more boxes. We packed up about 15 boxes today. We had to go buy 25 pounds of packing paper for $1/pound because we had to wrap everything before we could pack it.
There were so many odds and ends, which was the most difficult. Many boxes were lamps and decor that we had to disassemble as much as we could, then wrap, and tetris into boxes. My dad repacked a few things we'd thrown into boxes back in May, too. At one point, he and I were going through a basket with some of Ty's stuff in it. It was really random stuff. I had a few things in one hand and I found a little ball and I was looking at it, trying to figure out what it was. There was a dent in it, so I squeezed it to see if it was squishy and it burst! Yellow goo got all over me! I was so freaking lucky that none got on my dad or on the carpet. Apparently, it was a paintball. Why he had one paintball just loose in a basket of "stuff," I'll never know.
Eis took a two hour nap, which was lucky because we got the most done during that time. When she's awake, she can't be put anywhere for too long without fussing. I put her jumperoo together, since it arrived Thursday, and my parents brought it to help try to keep Eis occupied. She likes it, but she's still a bit short, so I have to put something under her, so her feet don't dangle. She doesn't jump quiet yet.
Yesterday, I disassembled both beds and took everything out of the cabinets and closets and set it out, so I could see how much I had and try to get it somewhat organised. We have people ready to help on Sunday, since that's the only day my parents can be there to help, but it's at 30% chance of rain. Yikes! If it's raining or even misty, then we can't do it and I'll have to wait until January.
Let's all think dry thoughts!
