Day 190: Naptastic

Eis slept for a FIVE hour stretch in her crib last night! Woo!  Then a three, then a two.  I would love to get those two short ones to combine, but I must fight one battle at a time.

Mom and I went to the mall today to try to find somethings for Jamie to open on Christmas.  We got her some nail polish, a bracelet, two pair of earrings, and a small purse.  We also got me some earrings, too.  We were pretty quick, despite it being a Saturday, though we were early enough to where the crowds weren't sickening.

We got home in time for me to nurse Eisley and my dad let me know that she only napped for 20 minutes while he held her and rocked in the nursery.  It was about 30 minutes after we got home that they left for some historic home thing in Georgetown with Steve and Gayle.  I thought about going, but figured it'd be a pain in the arse with Eis, plus I'd drive by myself up and back, and it was $18 (which my dad said he'd pay for), however, it was just too much driving for something I didn't really care too much about.

I ended up staying here and having Eisley take three thirty minute naps throughout the night.  As she was in the nursery, I decided to watch some Netflix movies on my parents' computer.  I watched Gnomeo and Juliet, then I watched Peter Pan (a 2003 remake with the guy who played Lucius Malfoy as Cpt. Hook), then I watched a bit of Leap Frog to see what it was like.  I understand that Leap Frog is for learning, but it really took things down to a level that was startling and new for me.  I mean, obviously kids don't know what things are and have to be introduced, but there was just so much that actually has to be explained!  This particular episode was about the alphabet and one part explained what rhyme was.

On another note, I told my mom about my post on FB that Eis was 13.12 lbs and 25.5" at her four month check-up and that Amy had said that Eis is almost as big as Ava and Ava is nine months old.  I wanted to reply that her growing pace won't last long since she comes from petite stock...  I'm sure at my most pregnant, I weighed less than Amy does on any given day.  It's a shame she'll have a fat child one day.  It's sad, but the average woman ends up looking like her mother.  Sucks for the fat ones.

We are going to try to leave here by 0900 tomorrow to get to Heights to finish up a bit and move stuff around to where it'll be easier to move.  Thank goodness the chances of rain went down to 10%.  Woo!

I called USAA and told them the house would be a rental property and so they changed our policy to what's called a "Fire Policy," though it covers much more than that, however, because we're renting, the price went from $400ish to $700ish a year for coverage.  Ugh.  So, not only do we get to keep the house, but we get to pay more for insurance, not even cover the mortgage with the rent, spend money on a storage unit, and be responsible for any damages any idiot does to our stuff!  Sounds like a win-win! Who wouldn't want to rent?!

Honestly, I was hoping the fires all around Texas might get close enough and burn the damn thing down.  I was willing to lose what I had in there, if it would mean I didn't have to deal with it any longer. However, that did not happen.
