So, I tried having Eisley sleep in her crib last night. I am convinced that it will take at least a few days, if not weeks, for her to get used to it and sleep for 6-7 hours like she'd do in the swing or sleeper. She was up every 2-3 hours, which means I was, too.
I was so disoriented each time I woke up. I tried to just pat her and give her the rubadub to help her to go back to sleep. Sometimes that worked. Other times I had to nurse. At 0830, after I changed her and nursed her, I got my mom and said I had to sleep.
At 1130, I was brought the little rat fink, who'd eventually gone back to sleep, but had awoken after two hours and was ready to nurse. We did that and then I got dressed. Then we went into the nursery and dressed Eisley in her reindeer suit, since it was about 45º outside.
About 10 minutes later, we headed out for HEB. Mom insisted on bringing a blanket, both to the car and into HEB. I told her it was unnecessary and would be one more thing we'd have to keep an eye on... and I was correct. She also brought her giant umbrella even though it was not raining, though it had been earlier in the morning and was still quite wet.
When we got into HEB, I took off my jacket and put Eis in the Ergo (facing out) and we managed to work that for about 45 minutes before she started fussing. Then my mom wanted to hold her -- Eisley gets lots of attention everywhere we go because she's so cute.
I nursed her when we got home, then she took a nap.
While she napped, I worked on my next Eisley iMovie. It's rather entertaining so far. I can't wait until I'm done.
She woke up and my mom changed her and watched her for a bit, then my dad watched her, so I could work on the movie. Then I watched her and she kept fussing, so I took her back and nursed her for about five minutes and noticed her putting her hand on her head, which means she's tired. I stopped nursing and put her in the swing and she was out in about 60 seconds.
My mom and I had plans to eat out for dinner while Dad watched Eis, so we promptly left for Cheesecake Factory. I got a "bikini martini," which was amazing; fish tacos, which were yummy; and the red velvet cake cheesecake, which sucked. It was disappointing to have a dessert that wasn't delicious, since it looked amazing, but now I know.
We perused Barnes and Noble for a bit after, but my mom said we should get home in case Eis was being a fuss budget, though we'd only been gone an hour and a half. But, believe it or not, when we got home, Eisley was still sleeping! She slept for another hour after we were home, too.
On another note, I have had the worst allergies today. I've been so snotty and sneezy, it's nuts. I feel so gross and I can't take anything like Benadryl or Sudafed because they'll dry up my milk supply. Lame.
Tomorrow is Eisley's four month check-up and vaccinations. Let's hope for the best.
