I'll keep it short, since it's already midnight.
Woke up at 0730. Took out Puck. Called anesthesiology to make an appointment for a consult, since I've got metal in my spine. Was given the run-around. They open at 0700. Was transferred the first time and waited for 6 minutes while it rang. Called back -- no answer, but got a message and different number to try. Called other number. Tried first number four more times. Left a message. Second number called me and told me I had the wrong number. Got a call back from the first number at 0845. Told them I'd be there around 1000. Read for 20 minutes, then went and told my folks about the appointment time.
Parents convinced me I was wrong with where I was going to have them park, so we parked in the south garage -- I was right and we should have parked where I originally said. Giant hospital and we got lost because they didn't trust my idea about anesthesia being with surgery. I was right -- TWICE. I didn't say anything.
Doctor Park was quite nice and informative. Said all should be fine. May have a hot-spot due to scar tissue or all may be fine. He also recommended two neurosurgeons or neurologists to see about pain management/spinal injections AFTER the baby is born. He said I shouldn't get injections forever.
Stopped by Starbucks on our way home. Worked on mom's science posters until 1400 when Mo stopped by the house. By then I was chatting with Ty on the phone. Dad had called Time Warner to boost the signal, but the modem is fine, it's the airport extreme that's not working. We ordered a new one -- should get it next week. Dad said he'd just keep it "off" until then... I said that I'd rather deal with the intermittent signal than having zero wifi for a week. He plugged it back in for me.
Enjoyed chatting with Ty, as usual. He gets to sleep in a bit, since he'll have a late mission. I miss his so bad and I wish for nothing more than for him to come home.
Left at 1445 to go to my massage. It was nice -- I could walk when I got up, though it didn't last too long! Worked on the posters for a bit before Jamie got home and it was time to go to dinner. We went to Iron Cactus for half-priced appetizers. I had a spinach and goat cheese quesadilla.
Then we went to see Horrible Bosses. It was a bit vulgar, but it was hilarious. I couldn't laugh as hard as I wanted because of my belly. Last night it started hurting in a stabby, painful way and it continued all day long. It is predominantly when I am sitting, but occurs a bit when I lay down, too. It also decided to hit me like a truck once or twice while walking back to the car after the movie. I had to stop walking both times because I couldn't seem to move my legs. Dad asked if it was labor. I said I didn't believe so and that I imagine it to be worse, but I'd go home and lay down for an hour to see if it would subside. I also texted and emailed Ty, just in case it didn't go away.
It hasn't gone away and it does take my breath away, but it's not consistent, nor growing in duration. My mom packed the bag tonight just to be on the safe side... though we realized that I need socks for the baby, as well as a small case for wipes. I guess we have more errands to run :(
I also found out today that my birthday present camera, with which I plan on taking pics of the baby, is backordered with no shipping date. They waited a WEEK to inform us. I think I will be calling tomorrow cause I'm PISSED. We didn't pay that much money so I could have a baby and a birthday, THEN try to learn how to use it while I'm busy with a newborn.
Jamie leaves tomorrow. We'll go up to the house tomorrow or Sunday to check things out.
