Day 30: One Month Down

Wow.  It's been a month -- yay! Just eleven more to go -- yuck!

I went to sleep late last night, so I didn't get up when I planned today.  I woke up a bit before 0800 and took Puck out and fed him.  He didn't go see my parents when they woke up -- he chose to stay and lay on my feet while I slept.  I awoke at 1000, but accidentally fell back asleep and didn't wake up til almost 1100.  I got out of bed pretty quick so I wouldn't risk falling asleep again.

I had some cinnamon raisin bread for breakfast -- didn't feel like getting out the toaster, so I ate it cold.  Yes, cold because it's kept in the fridge.  It was still good.  My dad gave me a funny look when I took the whole carton of Lactaid to the table.  I told him there wasn't enough left to warrant dirtying a cup.
We ate breakfast and talked about what we needed to accomplish today: get out carseat and put it in car, pack my hospital bag, go through my important papers and toss what I didn't need, put bird seed in the feeder, and I think that was it.

We started with my important papers.  There were manymanymany to throw out because I hadn't needed to keep them, there were a few to organize better, then there were some to "deal with."  My MidAmerica money needs to be withdrawn cause I'm "losing money" and I there's no reason why I shouldn't have done it already or something.  I will mail that off tomorrow.  I also needed to update our address with Chase and get our statements electronically, since there really was no reason to get them in the mail.  After I had them send a code to Tyler and Ty pass it to me, I updated our address, added my phone number, and also made my email the primary email address, so I could get the statements sent to me.  My dad did mention that we would only need to charge $1000 a month to cover the mortgage -- it won't cover the taxes, but it would be plenty.  That seems like a reasonable amount.  However, I am still praying that I can sell the damn thing.

I do need to find the title to my car and call USAA to find out about the title to Ty's truck. I probably have to fax in the POA first, though.  Booooo.

After we finished with my papers, I got to talk to Ty!  He got off work early and went to check things out at the MWR tent.  I'm so lucky to have him -- despite all the stuff he has going on all hours of the day, he still makes time to figure out what we (and he) will need to do when I go into labor!  He talked to the guy "in charge" of the tent and let him know the situation, so everything should work out pretty smoothly.  Now, that's not to stay we didn't have trouble with the internet connection -- that still wasn't great, but it was nice to know we had a plan of action.  I couldn't dream up a better husband if I tried... well, maybe one that didn't have to leave and had billions at his disposal... but that's not realistic :)  As far as real husbands go, mine is the best. Ever.

After the signal cut out at the MWR tent, he went back to his tent and we used HeyTell til he went to bed.  I was pleased as punch that HeyTell worked as well as it did.  It was a nice conversation we had.  We both kept it simple with one message at a time and the quality was great.  I love getting to hear his voice, not to mention how nice it was to see his face today.  He's so handsome and I thought it was funny how he looked like he was getting ready to play Call of Duty because of the headset he had on.

Anyway, since we were done with the papers, my dad grabbed a snack and wanted to watch golf for a little bit, so I grabbed my book and read.  It's addictive!  After a bit, he turned off golf and I put on my swimsuit to go to the pool.  I got my stuff and Puck's ready and we went outside.  I took my book and read with the kickboard as my water-table.  It was great.  I was out there alone, just reading and enjoying the shady end of the pool when I felt like something wasn't quite right.  I looked up and saw two eyes staring at me!  There was an animal in the pool standing in the tiled area that leads to the "baskets."  The water was low enough to where it could stand and not have to swim or drown.

I threw my kickboard and book to the side and got out as fast as I could and ran up to the door.  My mom saw me coming and I think she thought I may be in labor (hahahaha).  She opened the door and I said, "There's an animal in the pool. I need dad! Quick!"  She called for him and he came out to rescue it.  I got in so I could see and help and he opened the top of the basket to look in.  After a second, the animal began swimming into the rest of the pool and then dove down as my dad tried to scoop it up in the net!  I was surprised he could swim so well and that he knew how to dive like that.  He changed course and went back into the basket area, but my dad couldn't get the net into such a small hole!  He kept having to get in the grass cause his feet were burning, so I gave him my flip flops.  He eventually put them on as my mom was coming out.  She offered hers, but I told her that the ones he had on were actually hers, anyway.  He wasn't sure how to get at the animal, since he couldn't see it, he didn't want to hurt it, and he definitely didn't want to touch it -- despite my mom's suggestion to just reach in and get it (hahahaha).

I told him to get the new fountain piece (we now have a fountain thing in the pool) and use it, since it was an "L" shape and he could push the animal out into the pool.  He pushed at it and I would tell him which side it was on and if it was running around, when finally it jumped back into the water and dove like a submarine, but my dad scooped him up!  He pulled it out of the water (luckily Puck didn't realize what was going on) and said, "That's a really big rat!"  It looked more like a guinea pig to me. It was about the size of a guinea pig and I didn't see its tail.  My dad said, "Should I kill it or let it go?"  I, of course, said, "Let him go, but let him go on the other side of the fence, so you don't get Puck interested in what's going on.

He headed out front and I got back to my book.  Mom got in the pool and read, then about 15 minutes later or so, dad came back to deliver my flip flops, then headed in to change into his swimsuit.  He got in the pool and laid on a float, too.  He and my mom chatted a bit, but they mostly just relaxed, while I continued to sit on the steps and read my book.

After a while he got out and went inside and my mom got out to sit in a chair and dry off.  My dad had taken Puck in with him because Puck was so hot and again I look up and see eyes staring at me! One of the neighbor dogs had gotten out of his fence and his buddies were all barking up a storm.  I put my book and "table" aside, put on my flip flops and went over to say "hello."  The lady came out, telling her dogs to stop barking and I let her know that one had gotten out of the fence.  She called his name, Murphy, to try to get him to come to the gate, but he didn't mind and she didn't have shoes on.  I went outside our gate and followed him, then bent down and said, "Come here, baby!" in a high, happy voice and he ran to me as fast as he could!  I picked him up and he was so sweet and soft.  I walked over to her gate as she was coming out of the house with shoes on.  I passed him over to her and she thanked me and I went back to the pool.  I was lucky Puck was inside -- he would have barked and been jealous!

I got back in the pool and continued to read for another 30 minutes to hour before my dad came out and asked if I was going to come inside or not.  I paged through my book and decided I had too much left to stay in the pool.  I got all my stuff and headed inside.  It was about 1800 by the time I changed and went into the kitchen.  My mom was contemplating dinner and I got out all our salad stuff, since I knew that's what she and I were going to have.

I chopped some lettuce, bell pepper, onion, tomato, put in dried cranberries, crunchy oniony things, and balsamic vinegrette and started eating.  I didn't know how my mom wanted her salad, so I just left the chopped stuff out, so it'd be quick for her to make hers.  She came in after I was done eating and told my dad she'd make him a sandwich.  She said, "Honey and swiss" when she meant that we have honey ham -- I heard from my room (where I was reading) and laughed.  My dad came back and asked if I was going to eat. I let him know that I already had and he was surprised.  He also asked if I fed Puck, which I had done, as well.

They ate their dinner and began watching some shows while I finished up my book.  I'm fairly worthless when I'm reading a great book.  I don't want to do anything else ever, except read until I'm done with the story.  I've been pretty good about doing other things, but I'm always itching to get back to the story.  I think it's good I started with the second book cause they're long and I'd be out of commission even longer if I had to read all three.  As of now, I just need to get my hands on the last book.

I went out to watch some tv with them, but they continued to watch shows I'd seen or didn't like, so came to my room to watch my Netflix movie: I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.  It was pretty good.  Jessica Biel is gorgeous.

When I finished, I went out and flipped through a magazine and chatted with my mom as she did dishes, then I went to play a game on their computer.  They soon went to sleep and I played a few more rounds of MahJongg.

I finally turned off the computer and decided I should shower, since I smelled like chlorine and it has been 2-3 days since I last showered... I'm now remembering that I still have to take out Puck before I go to bed.

I am going to Sam's tomorrow to pick up a few things to mail to Ty.  I hope his stetson gets there tomorrow.  It's ridiculous how slow the mail has been going, considering how quick they told us packages were being delivered.
