Day 246: Drivin'

Four. Five. Three.

What is that, you may ask?  That, my dear(s), is the number of hours Eisley slept last night.  You may be thinking how much that sucks for a six month old, but for my six month old, it's pretty darn good.

We went to Heights today to trade the car for the truck.  We wanted to start taking stuff to the house and it would just take forever in my car, so we thought we'd employ the truck.  We're going to load it up tomorrow and drive it all back to the house, then bring back the car.

While we were in Heights, we checked the consistency of our hill, which seemed to be fairly dirt-ish, and we fixed a bit of the fence before it decided it could or would fall down.  We brainstormed ideas for the backyard, as we don't want to spend lots of monies, and we scouted out items at our disposal in the area.

It's a good thing we didn't sod the backyard because it would have been such a waste. With the drought being as insanely extreme as it was, we spent our money and effort on keeping the front yard looking beauteous.  The backyard was a lost cause.  We had fissures in the back, it was so dry.

Our best bet is to zeroscape the bottom two thirds of the yard, though try to make it a bit flatter (though I think if it's zeroscaped, then it doesn't need to be terraced, too).  Another suggestion was to put up a 3-4 ft. picket fence at the top to separate the useable yard from the hill.  Third suggestion is to totally terrace it and make it all yardy.

Finally, here is another terrible face that my beautiful daughter can make:
